KUNDALINI

Kundalini is known as the yoga of awareness—an empowering practice that awakens energy, deepens presence, and connects you to your inner vitality. Candice leads Kundalini at Lotus with a modern approach, honoring the tradition of kriyas while weaving in a fresh perspective. Each class combines dynamic breathwork, intentional movement, gentle breath holds, meditation, and mantra chanting to uplift the spirit and calm the mind.

 

This practice is accessible to everyone—no prior experience is needed. Candice also integrates her unique focus on nervous system repair, making the practice both deeply spiritual and profoundly restorative. Expect to leave feeling more grounded, balanced, and connected.

Lunar Slow Flow

Experience a deeply nurturing and restorative practice that harmonizes the active demands of life with a calming, lunar-inspired flow. Begin with a slow, mindful sequence where each movement is thoughtfully synchronized with your breath, allowing you to settle into each posture with intention. Drawing from PRANA VINYASA®—a holistic approach developed by Shiva Rea—flow through Chandra Namaskar (Moon Salutations), movement meditation, and soothing dancing warriors as you explore lunar wave sequences that reflect the moon’s serene and introspective qualities. The emphasis is on maintaining a smooth, conscious breath, drawing energy inward, and tuning into the subtle energies of your body to create space for balance and tranquility. As the class progresses, transition into deeply yin and restorative postures, supported by props, inviting your nervous system into a state of profound rest.

This practice is ideal for those seeking to align with their body’s natural rhythms, relieve stress, and cultivate a deeper connection with themselves through a unique blend of lunar qualities, yin, and restorative techniques.

Warm Yoga 

This unique and invigorating experience in **Warm Yoga Sculpt**. This class is unlike any other—set in a warm environment with added humidity to enhance your practice. We begin with a series of movements to warm up the body, then transition into a powerful blend of yoga, Pilates, and barre techniques to sculpt and tone your muscles.

 

Candice created this class with a blend of all her teaching, combining her love for fitness, yoga, and spirituality into a custom signature experience. Expect to sweat, elevate your heart rate, and face some challenging moments that will push you to your limits. But rest assured, you’ll leave feeling lighter, stronger, and with the stress of the day melted away.

 

We end the class with a calming cool-down, gentle stretching, and a soothing savasana, complete with sound bowl therapy to leave you in a state of deep relaxation.

Sound Therapy

Candice is a sound alchemist who masterfully plays the crystal singing sound bowl, accompanied by other sound instruments, to create a deeply therapeutic experience. She refers to this practice as "sound therapy," a powerful form of healing that works on a cellular level. The frequencies produced by the sound bowls penetrate the body, breaking up stress, tension, and emotional blockages, while calming the nervous system and relaxing the vagus nerve.

 

Anyone who comes to listen to the singing sound bowl leaves feeling completely relaxed and rejuvenated. Candice loves to finish all her classes with sound therapy, as she believes this form of healing is something everyone should experience.

Candice Strussi

Candice, the founder of our studio, began her yoga journey in her early 20s and has since devoted her life to leading transformative retreats and guiding others on their spiritual path. Over the past five years, Candice has coached hundreds of individuals, helping them navigate their nervous systems and unlock their full potential. Her training in Kundalini yoga has profoundly impacted her life, focusing on the power of the nervous system to foster deep healing and spiritual growth. As a nervous system guide and spiritual coach, Candice blends traditional and modern practices to help individuals reconnect with themselves, both on and off the mat.

 

A certified breathwork practitioner, Candice integrates breath, movement, and nervous system regulation into her practices, empowering students to find greater joy, love, and balance in their daily lives. Candice also hosts retreats at her healing center on Cortes Island, creating a sacred space for deep transformation and personal growth. Her passion lies in supporting others on their journey back to their true selves, creating a space for healing, connection, and lasting transformation.

Nina Zettl

Nina Zettl is a seasoned yoga instructor with over 25 years of experience and more than 3,500 teaching hours. Her journey began in childhood, inspired by her mother’s practice, and has since expanded into advanced studies in Prana Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin, and Trauma-Conscious Yoga. Nina is also a Reiki Master and Mind-Body Therapist, blending her deep knowledge of yoga with hands-on healing techniques to create transformative, soul-nourishing classes.

 

She leads our Prana Vinyasa and Lunar Slow Flow sessions, bringing a calming presence and profound wisdom to every practice. Nina’s approach is rooted in empowering her students to connect deeply with themselves, offering a truly holistic and uplifting yoga experience.

Nicole Oliver

Nicole brings her unique background as both a psychotherapist and yoga teacher into every class she leads. Drawing from her deep understanding of movement, mindfulness, and somatic healing, she creates a space where students can gently release tension, restore balance, and reconnect with themselves.

 

At Lotus, Nicole guides our Move to Soothe practice—a grounding flow designed to help discharge built-up energy and return the body and mind to equilibrium. This practice blends mindful movement with supportive, restorative postures, offering a nurturing space for renewal. Every class concludes with her signature deep relaxation and yoga nidra meditation, leaving students feeling restored, calm, and deeply nourished.

 

Nicole is not only an incredible yoga teacher, but also someone with a profound gift for guiding others into states of healing and ease. Her classes are an invitation to slow down, let go, and find renewal on every level.
